BENEFITS MANAGER - £250 - £350 P/D - LONDON - 3 MONTHS - DS

DESCRIPTION

The post holder will work across the range of projects which form the Change Programme, producing benefit realisation plans and monitoring and measuring the realization of benefits across multiple workstreams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Actively working with project teams and stakeholders to source information and data, with a view to analysing and developing it into strategic narrative, metrics, costs, estimates and quantified benefits
- Developing a benefits management strategy which clearly defines the approach to realising benefits and the framework within which benefits realisation will be achieved and aligned to the department's strategic outcomes
- Developing benefit profiles to define each benefit (and dis-benefit) and provide a detailed understanding of what will be involved and how each benefit will be realized
- Developing benefit maps showing the relationship between project outputs, capabilities, outcomes, benefits and corporate objectives in order to display the cause and effect relationships between the elements and the impact of failing to deliver specific elements on benefit realization
- Producing benefit realisation plans (detailing when each benefit or dis-benefit will be realized) so that realisation of benefits can be tracked across the programme and to review controls set in advance
- Tracking and measuring benefits in line with and by executing benefits realisation plans across the lifetime of the business cases and align these with annual planning rounds. Developing appropriate metrics, KPIs, data sources and monitoring dashboards whilst utilising appropriate tools and techniques
- Individually writing robust and credible business cases using the HMT Green Book five case model

EXPERIENCE

Essential

- Ability to draft strategic narrative, develop metrics, analyse data, estimate/cost change requirements
- Identify/quantify benefits whilst communicating the complex analytical information in a clear and concise way according to the needs of the audience-up to Board level
- Writing business cases for new projects
- Must be a self starter, highly focused on delivery
- Able to work alone as well as with stakeholders
- Must have exceptionally good excel skills to create meaningful spreadsheets and graphs for presentation purposes

Desirable

- Programme or Project Management Qualification such as MSP, APM or PRINCE 2
- Accounting qualification, CCAB or equivalent
