Bench Scientist II Job

BENCH SCIENTIST II needed for aCONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in HOLLY SPRINGS, NC.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Vaccine or Biopharmaceutical
- Molecular and Cell Biology
- Protein characterization

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for performing cell line development activities: generation of stable cell lines expressing recombinant vaccine antigens or viruses used for clinical and commercial development of vaccine candidates; providing assistance in the execution of analytical methods in support of cell line development for viral vaccines
- Establish pre GMP cell lines for expression of recombinant vaccine candidates
- Execute cell culture activities under GLP quality systems
- Maintain lab supplies and stocks of raw materials
- Effectively communicate scientific results in oral and written form
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to meet project timelines

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS with three (3) years relevant experience or MS with one (1) year relevant experience. Degree should be in Virology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline
- Relevant experience in Vaccine or Biopharmaceutical industry with focus on production process development for vaccines, recombinant therapeutic proteins
- Strong molecular biology and cell biology skills/experience required
- Hands on cell culture experience, experience in transient and stable cell line generation, experience in biochemical and biophysical protein characterization methods
- Able to work independently, executing experiments with limited supervision
- Good knowledge of GMP and related guidelines and its implications for design of processes, equipment and facilities for recombinant proteins
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams
