Batch & Workload Management Specialist - Finance - Sydney CBD

THE CLIENT

Our client is one of Australia's leading and largest Financial Services Organization that has expanded its operations beyond the Australian shores. The organization has a large range of financial offerings to both public and private clients across the retail, corporate and institutional banking areas. They have a very large technical footprint that combine a dynamic range of technologies in an ultimate complex landscape.

THE TEAM

This role sits within the team tasked with the performance and optimization of this organization's production systems. The team seeks to ensure that the effects on all downstream and upstream systems are reviewed for all new and changing workload requests. They're also responsible for ensuring that all the batch requests are captured appropriately and in-line with operational parameters.

THE ROLE

You will assume ownership of the end to end batch processes and operations to ensure that they are scheduled and executed efficiently. You will look at all the batch/workload processes that occur, the technologies involved, and then you will optimize/tune the scheduling of these tasks to ensure resilience and performance. You will need to be a critical thinker with broad knowledge of operations and infrastructure. You will be providing detailed technical analysis of batch work processes, workloads, threading, and key infrastructure metrics.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

- 5+ years experience with technical workloads and scheduling within enterprise environments
- Demonstrated technical understanding of Mainframe, Midrange (UNIX), and Storage/Network platforms
- Strong Understanding of how workloads affect Midrange and Mainframe systems
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Autosys, Central Process Scheduler, and SAP Batch Workload Scheduler
- The ability to communicate technical workload and batch process analysis into business terms.
- Excellent Analysis and Communication Skills
- Excellent Documentation Skills
