Banking - Support Analyst - Trade Data £450/day

My client, a global tier 1 bank in London (Canary Wharf) is looking for a 2nd / 3rd Line support analyst to join their team for a rolling 6 month contract, paying up to £450/day. This role sits in between the 1st line helpdesk and the developers, and will act as an escalation point from 1st line in order to resolve issues - without having to raise to the developers. The successful candidate will sit in the development team, and will be required to do scripting / programming. Summary: * Analysing Production log files to determine areas/causes of production incidents. * Debugging/Analysing code (Java, PL/SQL/Unix scripts) to identify root causes. * Replicating issues in non-Production environments to aid in investigation. * Ensuring that regular/relevant communications are maintained with both 1st-Level Support and Development team about issue status/progress. Tools Development * Development of tools to improve productivity for 1st-Level support - using basic Java and/or Shell scripts. * Automation of currently manual tasks - primarily using Shell scripts. Skills o Java Development o Shell scripting o PL/SQL - Oracle Any experience with XML (XPath / XSLT) is an advantage but is not a pre-requisite for this role.
