Band 6 Physiotherapist Required

The vacancy is with the Adults with Learning Disabilities team. Although LD experience would be great I know that is hard to find with this specific experience, therefore will be looking at people with transferable skills, Neuro, Community or Paeds.
You will be part of a Multi Disciplinary team that includes OT's Speech and language Therapists and LD Nurses. You will work closely with social services and Psychology as required and be supervised by a specialist band 7 Physiotherapist.
Successful candidates would be expected to work in a number of different environments, both with families and paid carers, in people's homes, supported living, day service centres and within generic services.
It is a non-uniform post. Casual but smart (no jeans or trainers)
Working with us would give them experience and skills in the following:
* 24-hour posture care, which involves assessment for equipment for optimal positioning day and night, including wheelchairs, seating, orthotic provision and sleep systems. Training of staff/carers in the use of this equipment specific to the individual.
* Support and liaison with main stream services supporting access and advocating for and supporting discharges.
* Management of long-term conditions. This involves education and close links with family and carers to understand the nature of the conditions. This will also entail advice on individual management programs.
* Specific treatment sessions such as Aquatic therapy, Rebound Therapy and Movement Groups
* Dementia and end of life support.
* working within the safeguarding process in relation to Vulnerable Adults
* A working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DOLs
