Thank you for your interest in this position. The role you are applying for is with Serco at their Suffolk Community Healthcare Contract. Serco is an international service company that improves the quality and efficiency of essential services that matter to millions of people around the world. We are the current providers of NHS services to Suffolk Community Health in Ipswich and the surrounding area. This includes a comprehensive range of NHS services closer to home to about 600,000 people in Suffolk (excluding the Waveney area). Our services include nursing, Occupational Health and wider range of therapies within the community hospitals and specialist centres.

Suffolk Community Healthcare is an innovative and transforming provider of community health services within Suffolk. Our vision is for a flagship service to support the shift of higher acuity care from acute hospitals into the community setting. This includes clinical interventions that will prevent hospital admissions and that will facilitate patients being cared for earlier in their recovery following hospital admission in the community setting.

We are currently looking to recruit a Band 5 Community Nurse to join the team working out of Felixstowe Community Hospital for a period of 12 months on a fixed term contract basis.

Successful candidates will manage a defined caseload under the direction of a Senior Clinician using evidence based client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

Candidates must be RN qualified and registered with NMC.

Excellent communication skills; the ability to work autonomously; good time management; flexibility and the ability to travel to rural locations are essential.

Experience of community work would be an advantage but we will consider newly qualified nurses who demonstrate the right qualities.

Service operates 8am - 4pm 7 days a week
