Ballast Field Supervisor

Our client is looking for a Ballast Field Supervisor to join their team based in Nottinghamshire within the rail sector. This is a 3 month contract with an immediate start available.

Objectives
To oversee and supervise the installation of track work in depot or main line according to:
-the technical drawings and specifications
-within the forecast resources and the programme
-in line with the QC standards and the HSE requirement

Measurement
-Client complaints follow-up (non conformity forms)
-Weekly Progress program and reports
-QC, Program and Safety indicators
-Optimisation of workmanship and construction means

Responsibilities
-Ensure that the works are carried out as per schedule, within the budget, in line with the quality standards and as per health and safety requirements
-Ensure that the Ballast Manager is aware of all site activities and personnel issues in a timely way
-Write documentation (procedures, reports) related to the construction, H&S and environments requirements
-Manage the sub-contractor and machines under the candidates responsibility
-Contact point for all third parties on site
-Contact point for the sub-contractor on site
-Liaise with the survey team for daily requirements and technical issues
-Liaise with the logistic team for preparation of the daily programme and loading requirements
-Issue daily site diaries
-Ensure that supervisors have received required documents and are available on site
-Ensure that supervisors have understood health and safety requirements
-Check that health and safety requirements are complied with by spot checks
-Ensure that supervisors have understood quality control requirements
-Apply the quality requirements and issue the non conformance when necessary
-Raise all issues that are link to claims or additional works to management.

Educational Requirements
-Track/P-way technical training
-CSCS card holder

Desired Knowledge/Experience
-Ballasted Track laying projects
-Stressing of CWR including S&C
-At least an experience of 5-10 years experience on site of ballasted trackwork activities

Technical Skills & Competencies
-Good knowledge of track characteristics
-Knowledge of quality codes & standards
-Speak, read and write English
