My Client, one of the worlds largest Investment Banks are looking for a recent graduate to join their team based in London on an initial contract basis. Business Selection and Conflicts Team, Investment Banking EMEA Our primary task is to: - Anticipate, identify and manage potential conflicts to ensure the firm maximises the opportunities and revenues for the firm. - Drive decision making on business selection issues to ensure we are committing to the most attractive opportunity. - Identify client sensitivities to ensure these are addressed appropriately. - Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on business selection issues. - Ensure confidential information is kept on a "need to know" basis. About the Role: This attractive position presents a unique opportunity to an individual who is eager to obtain an insight into the big picture at one of the worlds largest investment Banks and gain an appreciation of how all parts of an investment banking franchise work together to provide strategic solutions for clients. Your activities will include, but are not be limited to: n Monitoring and disseminating information on our transactions, market trends and general company news to the appropriate industry, country and product teams in order to maximise potential for new business n Providing a daily management update on news stories n Monitoring and providing feedback on competitor positioning including liaison with league table providers n Advising on league table criteria and monitoring the league tables (Dealogic, Thomson Reuters, others) n Maintaining variousBSCdatabases n Processing confidential information received i.e. Engagement Letters n Preparing for and participating in the Business Managers Meeting (BMM), conducted weekly and geared at reviewing all new origination business proposals whether advisory, debt or equity n Monitoring deals done away and reasons n Conducting hostile conflict checks n Liaising with and providing information from a commercial perspective to Control Group, Business Managers, Finance and OGC n Getting involved in the Know Your Client (KYC) Process that identifies potential reputational or other risks posed for BAML by entering into a business relationship with a client. The role would include working with the business managers and management teams throughout all regions. Requirements: n Willing to dedicate the next year to this exclusive opportunity n Bachelor's Degree n Be numerical, thorough and possess a high degree of accuracy n Have a curiosity and understanding of the investment banking environment n Ability to work under pressure and meet daily deadlines n Strong communication skills n Demonstrates drive and commitment at all times n Proactive and resourceful n Be a self starter who is confident and assertive n Have strong relationship management skills and an ability to manage conflicts and deal with different personalities n Be professional and politically astute n Have good time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure n Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
