BACKUP EXPERT (NETBACKUP)
Our client require a technical backup expert. This person will be integrated in a team that services the commissioning of the infrastructure of centralised data storage of client.
Currently consisting of a SAN (optical fibre network), multiple enterprise disk systems (> 1.5 PB = 1536 TB), "physical tape"-robots, "virtual tape"-robots, backup to disk, multiple backup Servers with hundreds of client Servers.)
In the beginning, you will take note of the employed storage architecture and the limitations due to the interactions with the rest of the architecture (Servers, Ethernet network ...) and the history of its implementation. To better understand the problems by improving existing solutions and entry into service of new solutions need to be solved, s/he will also manage the current backup environment. Afterwards, s/he will, together with other technical architects, technical expert backup (Protection Store), participate in the analysis and elaboration of the design, documentation and follow-up of the commissioning of new solutions for storage of electronic data.
For his competence domain, s/he will be responsible for the alignment of the proposed technical solutions with the promised level of service to the customer and technical support for the positioning of a dashboard for the follow-up and the realisation of a capacity planning. S/He will be able to proactively to update his knowledge in function of the needs of the SNCB group and the technical evolutions of the market. S/He will communicate with the architects and administrators of the ox-teams (Windows, Unix, Linux, Vmware, NetApp, OpenVMS, MF) and network, the team of coordinators and the vendors/integrators. Ability to analyse problems. Be result-oriented and gladly take initiatives. Ability to achieve goals in a structured way adhering to deadlines. Demonstrable ability to write clear and concise documents that can be understood easily. Ability to motivate and work with others passing on your own experience and expertise. Ability to bring others around to your way of thinking while still remaining open to their proposals. Demonstrate a pro-active stance in your day to day work.
Rate: 400 per day
