BACKUP ADMINISTRATOR - JOB IN ZURICH
On behalf of our client, a large global Information Technology organisation, we are looking for a Backup Administrator with excellent Commvault experience to join their team in Zurich on a 12 months contract basis.
The Senior Backup Administrator's diverse duties will include the day to day support of a 24 x 7 x 365 enterprise backup systems, backup policy and media management, troubleshooting, diagnosis, maintenance and service improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide analysis and implementation support for data Backup and protection solutions including pre-site inspections, initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the operational benefit.
- Performs day to day administration and monitoring on all installed Backup platforms.
- Provides technical expertise supporting applications and technologies in a large scale 24x7x365 environment
- This person will work closely with internal business customers, technical team members and other internal support groups as well as external vendors to ensure a smooth implementation and transition.
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent skills with Symantec NetBackup design, administration, and troubleshooting, as well as VMware, Oracle and SQL server backups, and NDMP backups.
- Strong CommVault knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of backup design and installation of complex, large volume data Backup solutions. Specifically looking for:
- Backup workload analysis and management.
- Backup policy design and configuration
- Backup Image Lifecycle design and management
- Tape vaulting and off-site rotation
- NetBackup log analysis and troubleshooting
- Unix and Windows Scripting for NetBackup
- Backup and Restore with NetBackup Database agents for Oracle and SQL Server
- Backup and Restore with NetBackup Application agents for Exchange, Sharepoint
- Backup and Restore with NetBackup agents for VMWare and Hyper-V virtual machine platforms
- NetBackup Operations Center and reporting with NetBackup Operations Analytics
- Data Domain deduplication appliance operation and replication.
- Excellent communications skills
- Willingness to work in 24x7 team
- Previous experience in the financial industry is highly desirable
- Fluent in English
