Analytic Factory - Cloud Product Director (Azure)

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an Experienced Cloud Director with a strong

Client's has set-up in December 2015 a Center of Expertise for Data Analytics (Client's Data Analytics) with the objective to help its operating companies (OpCo's) - 7 in Europe and 7 in Asia -to create value by leveraging analytics.

Several challenges impede/limit the ability of operating companies to reach that objective.

On the IT/software side, they are:

1. Gaps in IT architectures to support analytic use case while minimizing their TCO,

2. Operationalization of analytic models requires migration to Legacy system which is time consuming and expensive,

3. Finding & assembling data to train and sustain models is difficult, time consuming and expensive,

4. Some analytics will require soon infrastructure capabilities in terms of processing power, memory and storage that are beyond what can be economically provided by on-premises option (in terms of elasticity and hardware architecture).

To help OpCo's solve those challenges, Client's Data Analytics is envisioning the set-up of an Analytic Factory in the cloud based on Azure product.

The Analytic Factory could be made of three offerings:

1. The Lab - which is providing data scientists (DS) and corporate data scientists (CDS) of our OpCo's the ability to quickly create and train models/visualizations in protected environment,

2. The Plant - which is providing a full blown IT environment covering from data storage and management to model operationalization and even operational system for model output consumption . In a nutshell everything that is needed to create value with raw data leveraging visualization and analytic techniques. The Plant can be configured for each OpCo's (depending on their needs/gaps & architecture of their existing IT) and operates in a multi-tenant approach,

3. The Showroom - which is an environment that will present the latest paradigm/innovation in analytics and visualization. Client's Data Analytics will perform R&D of future techniques (for instance: speech and AI driven BI, psychometric, etc.). Mission

In this context, Client's Data Analytics is looking to contract a Cloud Product Director whose mission will be:

1. To define further the three offerings presented above. This include the CX, technical high-level design & operations principle,

2. To engage with OpCo's to pitch/co-define offering 1 and 2 to assess appetite/future consumption of the Factory,

3. To establish a business case and engage with Client's Management Committee to confirm build and deployment of the Factory,

4. To organize the clearance of compliance, data privacy and security requirements,

5. To organize the selection of best of breed software to cover the functional requirements of the three offerings (some have already been selected as described in section below).

6. To select and steer a series of suppliers (cloud provider, consultants, technical builders, etc.) required to build the Factory,

7. To embark/onboard first users on the Factory. Architecture & Technology

Client's Data Analytics has established an functional architecture blueprint that we would like the Plant to deliver.

Client's Data Analytics has conducted a series of proof of concepts during summer 2016 that has led to a first selection of technology
