A leading financial, global information services company are seeking a strong Java Developer to work within Portfolio Valuations.

This company are offering the fantastic opportunity for a Java Developer to join their London team at Assistant Vice President Level and work on a range of projects - depending on your past experience and skills. This is a leading company which provides independent data, valuations and trade processes across all asset classes and has been highly successful in providing clients with enhanced transparency and efficiency as well as lower risk. Its Portfolio Valuations department covers post-trade valuation services globally across all asset classes.

You will be developing Java based software for financial applications which will involve handling a spectrum of technologies. Therefore the client seeks an exceptional candidate that will be hard-working, communicative, and motivated both to continue learning within the job and strive for promotion. In addition to these necessary personality traits you must hold the correct business competencies. This will include having:

- A strong academic degree in a numerate discipline.
- Professional experience working on distributed Java platforms. This should include Java 5/6 skills built in with a strong understanding of multithreading and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience working with a relational database management system e.g. Oracle or SQL.

As well as your developing experience you should also be able to demonstrate experience working with numerical applications, some knowledge of Financial Markets, and that you are comfortable working in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.

Any experience working in the following technologies would be advantageous in your application:

- Apache Tomcat, JBOSS application server
- JMX, JMS, Message Queues, JNI, JINI
- Spring, Hibernate3,
- XML, JAXB, JSON
