A Systems Engineer is required with a broad knowledge of Avionics and Mission systems alongside specialist knowledge of some of those systems within the fast jet environment (Typhoon).

This role requires the successful candidate to hold current SC Clearance prior to appointment.

Applicants must have knowledge of Avionic systems with a supporting level of aerospace technical and engineering knowledge broadly equivalent to that gained from either an engineering degree or Masters (such as the GD Aerosystems course). The ability to define evidence requirements, then review evidence supplied meticulously against those requirements will be crucial to the success of this project. The successful candidate must exercise credible influence over third party documentation and processes. The ability to use and manage the SmartRTS tool set including DOORS is essential. Familiar with Release to Service documentation, and be able to construct rigorous, compelling arguments in support of the RTS. Ideally the candidate should be familiar with the Merlin helicopter.

Knowledge of Typhoon aircraft systems is mandatory. The successful candidate must be able to attend 3rd party sites for meetings, readiness reviews, and aircraft/equipment demonstrations, with the ability to raise and resolve issues with all stakeholders. The post holder will be expected to produce accurate meeting and progress reports, trial wash-up notes and trial documentation. Flexibility and being available to work beyond core hours when required are considered highly desirable.
