AVIONICS AND MISSION SYSTEMS ENGINEER - Merlin, Seaking or Chinook

Systems Engineers are required with a broad knowledge of Avionics and Mission systems alongside specialist knowledge of some of those systems within the military helicopter operating environment, specifically must have experience of Merlin, Seaking or Chinook.

This role requires the successful candidate to hold current SC Clearance prior to appointment.

Applicants must have knowledge of modern aircraft avionic systems with a supporting level of aerospace technical and engineering knowledge broadly equivalent to that gained from either an engineering degree or Masters (such as the GD Aerosystems course). A sound knowledge of engineering principals and avionic systems: including displays and controls with the ability to understand engineering qualification processes and make evidence based engineering judgements. Knowledge of military helicopter operating environment with experience of the DOORS software tool along with knowledge of Release to Service process and regulatory environment.

You will work within the Avionics and Mission Systems capability on the Merlin, Seaking or Chinook Project alongside the existing project team. You will carry out technical evaluation of the Merlin, Seaking or Chinook avionics systems in support of UK MOD Release to Service recommendations and independent assessment of the related Merlin, Seaking or Chinook safety case.
