Aviation Data Analyst

For our client in the aviation industry we are currently looking for an experienced data analyst
Start date: ASAP
Location: Brussels
Language: English
Duration: initial contract 6 months (extension possible)
Our client currently uses a few separate operating applications which all take care of a small part of the capacity planning of their cargo planes. For them capacity consists of core product (own packages) and additional packages from other freighters. They have started a program in which they let a third party build a platform on top of this application layer which 1 interface. This platform will try to get the most of its data directly form the database. Some data will still be generated by the application beneath the platform.
During the development phase you will be responsible of providing the third party with the correct data and translating the data to normal English. After and during the development fase you will also be responsible testing the platform on the quality of data it provides. You'll also use your abilities as a business analyst to define requirements regarding the interface of the platform.
You'll be working autonomously and in order to ensure you'll be successful, you need to be a "go-getter". DHL is not the environment in which they will serve you things on a silver plate. You need to be pro-active, problem solving and most of all: you need to reach out! You are responsible for your own success!
Tasks:
- Obtaining and consolidation data from various databases (Oracle, SQL and Teradata)
- Translate data into plain English
- Identify Data Quality issues with the data
- Suggest solutions for Data Quality issues
- Business & Interface Requirements definition
- Creation of test cases + test execution
- Close interaction with senior business representatives
Skills:
- Data Analysts with strong Business Analysis skills
- Trend Analysis
- SQL knowledge
- Experience with aviation networks, including capacity planning and optimization
- Experience in creation of test cases and test execution
- Strong communicator
- Attention to detail
