AVAYA TELECOM TECH

SKILLS: Avaya Communication Manager, Deployment of Gateways, DHCP/IP addresses

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible supporting and administering the organization's telephony environment. Responsible for developing an understanding of the present state and telephony inter-operability as we migrate in various phases from non-standard to standard operating environment. This position is a key contributor to the overall planning, implementation, and support of telephony installations throughout the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintains voice systems; coordinates telecommunication maintenance functions to accommodate system users and minimize downtime for all sites across the enterprise.
- Performs Add/Move/Change telephony configuration requests for customers. 
- Ensures compliance with all voice procedures.
- Resolves problems as referred by the ACS Support Center.
- Monitors all voice activity for problems; diagnoses and resolves problems according to procedure. Escalates problems to the appropriate levels necessary.
- Assists with disaster recovery plans. Ensures all backups are performed on schedule for the various telecommunication systems.
- Develop and maintain telecom documentation.
- Assist the telecommunications group in support of ongoing telecom improvement projects.
- Coordinates with and assists vendors with software/hardware testing and installations.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum 3 years related experience, increasing responsible voice communications administration experience.
- Knowledge and experience with the various operating systems and systems performance monitors.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with Avaya Telephone Systems
- Must have experience with Avaya Communication Manager
- Experience with Deployment of Gateways
- Experience with DHCP/IP addresses
- Familiarity with multiple phone Switches, phone mail, key systems, and associated software.
- Familiarity of call center environments, both inbound and outbound supporting remote locations 
- Must know access methods including cable modems, DSL, satellite, and wireless. Must be proficient with Windows, especially its communications and networking capabilities.
