The role of the Technical Designer is to provide sales, pre-sales and post-sales advice and support to Account Managers and Clients. To design complete audio visual solutions, be fully familiar with current standards and protocols and with experience of a range of manufacturer's products. To formulate tender price and proposals.

Main responsibilities will include:

- Being able to design complete solutions from information gathered in consultative discussion with a client and/or from defined specifications.
- Being able to formulate a Total Proposal/Tender Price, and Proposal specification, based upon the known design and site criteria

Essential Experience/Skills:

- background from installation engineering of audio visual systems from small rooms to larger integrated solutions.
- Familiar with (Primary and Secondary) Education sector an advantage.
- Familiar with all significant Audio visual suppliers
- Proficient in MS OfficeExtron, AMX, Crestron, Polycom, Cisco (VC).
- Control, Audio and Video standards and techniques. Knowledge of Wireless and physical LAN Networking.

Desired Experience/Skills:

- Uses appropriate tools and experience to design solutions from brief/tender documentation
- Produce component specific Cost sheets, Schematics and CAD layouts for future Proposal and Installation team use
- Able to design architectural parameters for small and medium systems
- Takes responsibility for the provision of quality assurance of activities involving the technical specialism.
