Division:
Manufacturing Engineering.

Position Description:
- Vehicle Distribution - Strategy & Planning Specialist.
- As a Distribution Strategy Planner you will be responsible for leading new approaches and change within Transport & Distribution and its associated interfaces.
- You will be a key player in the transport logistics department, providing & managing the introduction of new transport planning solutions for world-wide vehicle customer delivery.
- Interface with Plant & Central MP&L, Finance, Purchase and Lead Logistics Provider.
- Benchmark Logistics industry trends including optimisation tools, equipment technology and competitor practices.
- Provide total Logistics advise / support and reporting to MP&L Management.
- Conduct Go Look Sees across various plant functions, recommending / advising on best cost and operational solutions.
- Strategy & Planning for Outbound Distribution, primarily owning UK, but also any overseas overlaps.
- GE Funding MP&L lead.
- Optimisation of existing relationships between the client and the current TSP base.

Skills Required:
Project Team Management, Resource Planning & Strategy.

Skills Preferred:
- Analysing existing and new transport opportunities to market, reduction of transit/storage costs, minimise transit time and acceleration to cash trigger points, driving Distribution decisions across company-wide stakeholders.
- Distribution route change, planning, cost assessment and introduction.
- Constructing & negotiating requirements for SLA's & new business plans with Finance and Purchasing.
- Management of SMART objectives, staff performance and staff development, coaching & succession planning.
- Driving Environmental and Co2 initiatives (Dept lead).
- Scoping, Developing & Deployment of new logistics strategies - report presentations & recommendations.
- Support achievement of the Outbound Freight Budget (cost-down tracker Wkly Dept lead).
- Conducting bench-marking and transport flow synergies with other vehicle manufactures.
- Supporting Distribution Systems engagement on future IT landscape change proposals.
- Provide inputs to Finance for local Business Plans and future projections on Operational Strategies proposals.
- Ensuring Policy Deployment and timely Distribution Scorecards objective updates.

Experience Required:
- Good understanding of MP&L / Manufacturing working processes / practises.
- Ability to communicate and influence up to leadership level.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Appreciation for the business operations and protocol.
- Highly organised, logical with attention to detail.
- Able to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Can work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Flexible with high energy and can-do attitude, self-motivated.
- Presentation skills, creative, good networking skills.

Education Required:
Educated to Degree Level.
