Automotive Business Research Engineer

WA Consultants has an urgent requirement for an experienced Automotive Business Researcher to support our Automotive OEM Client's Senior Management. Based at Warwick University - the successful applicant will be involved in the development of collaborative projects in the UK, EU and beyond, working with a variety of external technology partners.

Day to day tasks will include Research and preparation of material including short Papers and Presentations on a range of innovation topics; Innovation Strategy communications with innovation stakeholders, partners and government bodies; Alignment with a variety of internal groups including Research, Government Affairs, PR, and Innovation Strategy.

You should have:

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, together with highly developed interpersonal skills in order to succeed in this diverse, fast-moving environment. You should be a team player who is self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

You will have a keen interest in technology and innovation, good analytical skills, a solid understanding of the business environment and ideally, be PR-savvy. In summary applicants should be enthusiastic, proactive and diligent with strong attention to detail and proven creative, research, strategic and innovation skills.

In terms of prior work experience the ideal candidate will have exposure to some of the following:

- technology, research or business strategy (automotive not essential)
- Familiarity with the UK innovation landscape
- InnovateUK, Catapults, EPSRC, Automotive Council
- academic environment and funding mechanisms (Research Councils, EPSRC, HEFCE)
- government innovation engagement eg consultation responses, Select Committee evidence
- collaborative R&D projects
- innovation processes and links to product development and manufacture
- networking

This role will suit someone Educated to Degree-level either in Business, Strategy, Innovation or any Engineering discipline. Candidates with an MBA or PhD encouraged are also very much of interest.
