Automation Test Developer

We are currently seeking a Test Developer with minimum 5+ years' experience in Automation and either tool or technology experience, in QTP/Ranorex/Selenium using C# or Java, for our large Telecommunications client, based in Berkshire. The candidate will be joining the System Test group to develop automated system tests using Ranorex. The role will involve working closely with the test automation team, manual testers and product specialists to develop a variety of test suites.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To develop, maintain and execute automated test scripts using Ranorex.
- To identify existing manual tests suitable for automation.
- Identify and document defects when performing test execution and work with the development team to resolve these.
- Ensure that all formal test activities are properly recorded according to the company's quality system.
- Strive to continually develop and improve test methods, tools and techniques, including the test automation framework.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

- Ability to interpret requirements and specifications to identify what is needed to develop structured and comprehensive automated tests and test procedures.
- Ability to create automated test scripts and to maintain and update existing scripts and other test resources.
- High level of competency in test specification, test execution and test automation.
- Strong ability in C# Scripting in Ranorex or Visual Studio or Selenium.
- Quality conscious, analytical, accurate, proactive and flexible.

EXPERIENCE:

- An understanding of the complete software development and test life cycle and experience of developing automated tests for system test and ideally integration test.
- Considerable experience of working as a Test Automation specialist.
- Substantial Ranorex experience, with strong C# Scripting skills, although skills with similar tools and other languages will be considered.
- Substantial experience of working with and developing test automation frameworks, eg Keyword and Data Driven frameworks.
- Experience in using automation tools in conjunction with HP Quality Center for test execution and recording.
- Industry experience of developing automated tests when the application software forms part of a control system for physical hardware & systems is of particular interest to us.
- Experience of working in an agile environment (Scrum) is desirable.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Android UI Automation experience using adb commands
- Basic knowledge on Dos/cmd/Unix commands
- Mobile apps testing experience
- OTA (Open Test Architecture) programming
- Oops programming. Preferable in Java/C++
