Automation Support Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an AUTOMATION SUPPORT ENGINEER to join our client in Chesterfield, MO.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide programming and/or Scripting expertise in enablement of our automation and liquid handling platforms.

Job Qualifications:
- A B.S. degree in any science, engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) plus years in automation/instrumentation in the laboratory environment.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers (Biomek FX is preferred).
- Experience with excel and excel macros, along with SQL highly desirable.
- Two (2) plus year proficiency in programming custom deck layouts and methods and operating for any of the following liquid handling systems:
- Hamilton Microlab Star, Beckman-Coulter Biomek FX, Tecan Genesis, or very simila; with preference to Biomek FX systems.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, demonstrated ability to learn, not afraid to take on new tasks, develop and apply new approaches and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Well organized, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have two (2) plus years of experience as an automation engineer in a laboratory setting, programming experience (VBScript/HTML/Perl), and familiarity running automation equipment (preferably on the BioMek platform).
