Automation Developer

Project Manager role executes project management processes for the development of new solutions and services. Will be responsible for coordinating and owning the project plan while working with key stakeholders. The Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of any project.

MAJOR ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Defines project approach and gaining client, client engagement manager, and project team member buy-in;
- Leads and directs one or more project teams;
- Creates, reviews, evaluates project plans and objectives;
- Tracks and reports progress relative to time, budget, and demonstrated results;
- Negotiates with clients, colleagues and outside vendors;
- Communicates project status, milestones and issues to the project sponsors;
- Applies effective project management methodologies and control techniques;
- Works independently and with Project Team members to ensure task-level plans are completed and executed on track; and Manages project critical path and scope.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Strong software development skills.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities.
- MUST HAVE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND AND STRONG BUSINESS ANALYSIS SKILLS.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively on cross-functional project teams or individually, as needed.
- Ability to take direction and to complete tasks with minimal direction
- Ability and desire to learn technologies, some of which are unique to the laboratory domain, such as LHS programming languages and LabWare LIMS (including LIMS Basic)
- Web software development
- ASP.NET, content management systems, databases like SQL Server

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- VB.NET
- Strong database skills including fluency in SQL.
- Strong skills in building interfaces between systems and/or electronic equipment.
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in Information Systems or Computer Science
- Relevant IT experience, ideally with Laboratory, Life Sciences, and/or Customer Service applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Relevant experience in development of software design/specifications/technical requirements documentation.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, especially around liquid pipetting.

- Background in laboratory computing environment, including instrument interfacing
- Genetics and/or bioinformatics
