Autocad Technician

OUR TRANSPORT CLIENT URGENTLY REQUIRE AN AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN TO JOIN THEIR TEAM IN MANCHESTER TO WORK ON ONE OF THEIR KEY PROGRAMMES OF WORK.

SCOPE OF PROJECT

- Completion of updates to signal junction drawings
- Data review and cleansing of database signal details prior to migration
- Review and update junction design plans to ensure accuracy of information held
- To review software information of bus stops and signalised junctions against databases of in-highway detection loops as part of scheme to deliver bus priority
- Create thematic maps using recognised GIS APPLICATIONS
- Prepare mapping layers and diagrams based on standing data and new data sets
- Interrogation and verification of spreadsheets to ensure reliable outputs created
- Production of graphical representations of data for use by multiple stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with the agreed procedures.
- Ensure that all inventory records and other technical information and data are correct.
- Communicate the results of scheme design and operation by various channels including the production of quotes, progress reports and written correspondence to all stakeholders.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Demonstrable knowledge of CAD MODELLING AND DRAUGHTING TECHNIQUES IN 2D
- Experience and ability of analysing different data sources.
- Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders including members of the public.
- Experience of providing technical support for the production, coordination and exchange of engineering design data.
- Experience of using recognised GIS SOFTWARE.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise and well structured reports to a variety of audiences, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex data.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and meet funding and operational targets.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

- Project management experience; particularly in understanding project management principles, cost monitoring and control and financial management.
- Knowledge of TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS and the principals of traffic engineering.
