Authorization Unit Specialist Job

AUTHORIZATION UNIT SPECIALISTS needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Alameda, CA.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:

- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Coding.
- Authorizations experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Process and monitor the authorization process and resultant documentation continuously for quality and accuracy while working independently within a larger group.
- Perform accurate verification of member eligibility, coverage of service requested based on line of business, and provider network status for the requests as well as accurately input CPT and ICD9 codes.
- Work closely with the Medical Director, Supervisor or clinical personnel to better understand the reasons for modification, deferral, or denial of an authorization request.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Medical terminology required.
- Working knowledge of RVS, CPT, ICD-9, and CPT 4.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of managed care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and Windows.
