The main responsibilities of the role are to:

o Significantly contribute to the initial development and subsequent evolution of the Customer Assurance task-force strategy and its Board approval
o Lead the identification, analysis and synthesis of key internal and external information sources in the formulation of prioritised Customer Assurance assignment plans
o Collaboratively engage with Directors, Senior Managers and subject-matter-experts in the effective delivery of assignments, challenge of the status-quo, agreement of assurance outcomes and gaining commitment to change
o Gaining committed senior management support, up to and including Board level, for initiatives that will yield significant business benefits, minimising exposure and enhancing objective risk tolerance over time.
o Creation of internal senior manager stakeholder plan and external stakeholder relationships to ensure best practice is delivered as well as business as usual behaviour by accurate reporting of current state, recent incidents and potential exposures,
o Identification and clear communication of Risks & Opportunities within area of responsibility
o Provision of expertise and interpretation of complex legislation requirements to analyse and assess risk exposure and translate this information into an easily understood format for wider engagement and action including on
projects.

Required skills are as follows:

*Professionally qualified in a relevant discipline eg accounting, risk management, internal auditing, process improvement or project management.
*Post qualification experience, ideally in a range of relevant disciplines with regular Board-level exposure
*Working knowledge of associated legislation and compliance best Practices
*Commercial acumen enabling proactive identification of business risks and formulation of prioritised assurance plans for Board agreement
*Interpersonal skills - including proven ability to influence and advise at Board, Group and Senior Management levels to gain commitment to change and strongly influence the control agenda business wide.
*Ability to collaborate with a wide range of peer group functions to formulate innovative, practical and strategically aligned solutions
*Demonstrable 'troubleshooting' and analytical ability allied with experience of presenting/reporting complex data in a concise and user-friendly form
*Proven ability to motivate and lead a small professional team to deliver agreed plans
