Auditor, Audit, CCAB, AAT, Local Authority, Public Sector

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for an internal Auditor with previous experience within the public sector who is qualified in Institute of Internal Auditors/CCAB/AAT.

Candidates will need to have experience in a pure audit position, rather than having audit experience as part of their larger role, with proven experience in the following areas:

A sound knowledge of the standards/best practice set out in the APB guidelines and Public Sector Internal Audit Standards

Sound practical experience of undertaking systems and regularity audit projects including the production of detailed documentation covering scope/objectives/audit programme relative to individual projects.

Experience of managing and planning high volumes of work, performing to tight deadlines and targets.

Ability to produce project work to defined timescales with minimal supervision and to simultaneously progress a number of different and unrelated assignments.

Some experience in the use of CAATs including data retrieval and interrogation, local manipulation of data and use of test data when undertaking audit project work.

Knowledge and experience of utilising risk management processes/procedures from an audit perspective.

Experience of presenting quality internal audit reports and information in a variety of formats including identifying risk factors/control matrices/graphical/statistical analysis.

Ability to undertake presentations in relation to training initiatives and to utilise IT facilities to assist with this.

Experience of attendance at meetings, project groups and working groups as a representative of the Head of Internal Audit.

Able to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of ICT gained through practical experience of using a range of business software (Microsoft Office).

Willingness and ability to work outside normal office hours ie early mornings, evenings and weekends when the situation demands.
