Audit Manager

The primary purpose for this role is to bring subject matter expertise on UK regulation and compliance risks to the audit team. The SME will be working with the Manager and team to provide insight and guidance during the Risk Assessment, Control Assessment and Testing phases of the audit. The resource will follow the client's defined audit approach, methodology and documentation standards.

Deliverables may include:
Testing Summary, Risk Assessments, Control Assessments, process documentation, interview notes/summaries and providing SME guidance on audit findings and issues. Resource will be familiar with the applicable regulatory requirements related to the particular topic being audited as published by the client's regulator, as well as having experience of auditing financial services firms.

Internal Audit Team working on a UK Compliance audit. Reporting to the Audit Team Manager. One subject matter expert (SME) auditor required to supplement our internal audit team who are conducting an audit of the UK Compliance function across all lines of business within the UK.

Essential Experience:
Educated to degree level; ACA/ACCA preferred;
Minimum 4 years auditing or relevant experience;
Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory environment and the associated risks and expected controls within financial services firms;
Experience of auditing regulatory compliance and related controls;
Understanding of Institute of Internal Auditor and Division standards;
Understanding of COSO, AICPA, FDICIA, SAS70 standards and laws and regulations applicable to the assigned area of responsibility; Good analytical, written communication, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills; Relationship management skills; Detail and deadline oriented; Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
