Audit Manager

Our local government client is currently looking for an Audit Manager, to manage and co-ordinate internal audit activities in order to support the delivery of the strategic
internal audit plans. This includes managing audit staff and specialist staff, and planning, managing and/or undertaking independent and objective assurance activities
with a view to evaluating, advising on and reporting on the effectiveness of the environment.

KEY TASKS
1. To manage audit staff so that audit activities are completed in accordance with the approved audit plan, in compliance with the Code of Practice
2. Assist with the preparation of the audit plan and its delivery through quarterly work plans.
3. To prepare high quality, clear and concise reports, for approval by the Principal Audit Manager and/or Assistant Director, to senior managers within the departments.
4. Contribute to the preparation of the Internal Audit Service's business plan, ensuring that it is kept under regular review and that performance against agreed targets is monitored, reported and corrective action taken when necessary.
5. Consult and advise management on the development and implementation of new systems and modification of existing systems, both IT based and otherwise, in terms of their impact risk and the control environment.
6. Ensure that the requirements of the internal audit quality management system are understood, implemented and maintained by all staff.
7. Contribute to the management of the Audit and Performance Division to help achieve divisional, directorate and corporate objectives.
8. Assist in the selection of suitably qualified audit staff, motivate, counsel, coach and develop staff to ensure the efficient and effective achievement of corporate, individual team and Directorate activities and objectives.

As the successful candidate you will be MIIA, CCAB or equivalent and have an in depth knowledge and understanding of practices and developments within internal audit
Good knowledge of CCAB adopted guidelines relevant to internal audit
