Audio Video Technician

Yoh has a contract opportunity for an AUDIO VIDEO TECHNICIAN to join our client in Washington, D.C.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, Audio Visual specifications and schematics.
- Performs all tasks required to completely install audiovisual systems to meet customer specifications. Audio Visual cable installation
- Hanging Flat Screens from wall or ceiling, Projectors, speakers, speaker clusters, Projection screens
- Wiring Audio Visual interfaces, microphones and AMX/Crestron Touch Panels
- Audio Visual Rack Wiring and lacing in of cables
- Rack grounding
- Load AMX and or Crestron Program code, testing and troubleshooting system head end equipment on large-scale systems
- Performs a variety of manual labor tasks involved in physical installation using hand and power tools.
- Must be able to use a hammer drill, level and be able to solder
- Review prints and riser diagrams to verify mounting locations and cable routes.
- Test all Audio Visual components of system using local or remote PC connections and various electronic test equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting procedures when Audio Visual system errors appear during testing phase.
- Tasks include continual learning of new products, upgrades, and software programs related to systems.
- Job requires overtime and driving to different job sites. Installers are required to work on different jobs simultaneously requiring adequate records of tasks and frequent communications to update Project Manager.
- Evaluates and diagnoses Audio Visual equipment requiring service, and identify and troubleshoot problems of such equipment
- Provides specific solutions and recommendations to Service Manager or Project Manager on most efficient and cost efficient methods to return Audio Visual equipment to working order. Abides by OSHA regulations and use Personal Protective equipment as required by the work environment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum: High school graduate.
- Must be able to read and write at Basic English proficiency.
- The ability to perform basic math functions.
- THE ABILITY TO LIFT 50-60 LBS., CLIMB, CRAWL, AND RAISE THINGS OVERHEAD.
- Experience in Audio Visual testing, Audio Visual maintenance, and service of audiovisual systems.
- Has performed installations of audiovisual components.
- Possess current working knowledge of basic software applications, audiovisual technology and communication technologies.
- Should have some leadership experience needed to instruct installation assistants to perform basic Audio Visual tasks proficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Can read CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams.
- Is proficient with PC and has proven aptitude in simple engineering and construction.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Has solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory - formal instruction is preferred.
- CTS or CTS-I Certification. AMX, Crestron is a plus.
