Atlassian Tools Support Engineer

The Atlassian Tools Support Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining and supporting applications including multiple instances of JIRA, other tools in the Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Crowd, Fisheye, Crucible, etc.) and other tools managed by the Engineering Support team. Main focus of this role will be on managing JIRA projects, boards and workflows, advising internal customers how they can get most out of the tools.

The candidate must be experienced with JIRA workflow, custom fields, context and implications of working in a multi project/multi team environment. Knowledge of Java or Groovy Scripting is essential.

Responsibilities:

* Working as Developer/Administrator of multiple JIRA instances
* Responsible of maintaining and updating the custom plugin code base written in Java using Atlassian SDK
* Using Scripting language like Groovy to extend existing workflow capabilities
* Working closely with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to analyze and evaluate Business requirements, and define the most efficient & appropriate solutions using JIRA
* Troubleshooting issues pertaining to Confluence and JIRA related to migrations and project imports from different JIRA instance or system and plugin upgrades
* Researching and analysing Jira and Confluence plug-ins/add-ons to determine best 3rd party solutions to support and accelerate operations
* Working on developing the right Monitoring approach for JIRA and Confluence
* Working on Linux and MySQL issues in context of Atlassian suite of products

Requirements:
* Experience in Confluence and Jira administration, customization, upgrades and backups
* Understanding of JIRA workflows, boards, custom fields, contexts, and implications of working in a multi project/multi team environment to ensure that the desired process outcome is met
* Excellent customer service skill, must know how to listen to a customer problem-statement and be able to ask the right questions without assuming answers
* Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
* Ability to lead and provide technical assistance and/or training in using JIRA and Confluence
* Ability to work in a collocated team and share knowledge
* Analyzing root cause with users in a courteous manner
