Associate Scientist: Rheology and Thermal Analysis

In this role, the scientist will have opportunities to be involved in testing and method development for rheology and thermal analysis of food materials that may include cheese and dairy products, salad dressings, mayonnaise etc. The scientist will be exposed to running rheology and thermal analysis experiments required at various phases of product/process developments such as ingredient screenings, prototype evaluation, scale-up validation, and packaging development. The scientist will have the opportunity to work with Process, Regulatory, Production and Quality colleagues in the development and documentation for new products/processes, as well as exploring ways to improve the efficiency of current products/processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Running textural, rheological and thermal analysis experiments on food products
(2) Data collection and analysis on excel spreadsheet and writing test reports.
(3) Keeping the lab inventories up to date, and the lab in hygienic condition, Developing lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) Must have an University Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemical Engineering, physics, chemistry or equivalent
(2) Experience in running analytical instruments in a laboratory settings. The candidates with running rheometers, texture analyzers, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analyzer, thermomechanical analyzer and dynamic mechanical analyzers are preferred.
(3) Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task with strong prioritization and time management skills, Highly motivated, determined and ambitious
(4) Solid technical and critical thinking skills, High attention to accuracy and detail, Ability to work in a cross functional team environment, Flexible and adaptable, Hands-on, Creative, Innovative

A very small amount of travel could occur.
