WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Our team is focusing on Early Drug Discovery in Oncology. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our Epigenetics Group in the Oncology Department. The successful candidate will work on drug discovery projects focused on Epigenetic and Transcriptional targets. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to design, develop and execute experiments that include new target validation, identification of biomarkers, elucidation of mechanism of action, executing phenotypic screens, and developing assays for screening drug candidates and profiling development compounds within the area of oncology.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Independently design, plan and execute scientific experiments
- Analyze and interpret scientific data, troubleshoot and suggest new directions
- Independently review current literature pertaining to Oncology, Epigenetics, Transcriptional Regulation and related assays
- Accurately maintain written reports and organize data
- Present projects in team, department and project review meetings
- Champion early projects, coordinate efforts from different functions and lead team meetings
- Communicate with external collaborators and provide input in their strategy

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least eight (8) years of work experience or Master's degree with at least six (6) years work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of cancer biology.
- Familiarity with drug discovery process for epigenetic targets in oncology
- Experience in developing cell-based assays, screening in HTS format, and analysis of phenotypic screens.
- Experience in molecular and cell biology techniques such as Real Time PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, cloning, immunoprecipitation, immunoblotting, cell culture, transfection and transduction techniques (overexpression and silencing systems) and immunocytochemistry.
- Exposure to Next-Generation sequencing data and analysis.
- Highly motivated, capable of multitasking, and innovative.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to think creatively and solve problems are essential.
