ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Berkeley, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

- The incumbent will play a key role in the Isolation and Purification Department in Global Biological Development.
- (S)he will participate in the development of cost-effective and robust downstream purification process, scale-up and clinical manufacturing of therapeutic proteins.
- Working with the lead scientist, (s)he will be responsible for planning, designing and executing bench scale to pilot-scale purification development studies.
- The incumbent is likely to interact with other departments within the Global Biological Development organization as well as other functional units.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- An ideal candidate will be one who has prior experience in protein purification development, cGMP manufacturing, preparative column chromatography, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), AKTA Explorer, Avant, and Pilot, buffer preparation, and analytical assays such as SDS-PAGE, protein quantitation and HPLC.

Specifically, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Prior experience on chromatography (affinity, ionic exchange, hydrophobic interaction), TFF and protein analytical techniques (SDS-PAGE, HPLC assays).
- Prior experience working with AKTA Explorer, Avant, AKTA Pilot, AKTA skids, and HPLC.
- Ability to work with Unicorn, ChemStation, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to review experimental data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ability to independently design, plan and conduct process development experiments.
- Ability to prepare appropriate technical data summaries.
- Ability to communicate scientific data to other team members.
- Ability to follow written protocols and oral directions.
- Ability to work well on multiple assigned tasks.
- Ability and desire to be a good team-player of a project team.

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Biological Sciences with relevant industry experience.
