Associate Scientist: In vivo, BL2 cabinets, hepatocytes

I have an excellent long term contract (11 month at least) position as an Associate Scientist within an innovative and forward thinking company. Please find the job description below. Please note I require an EU National for this role due to work permit procedures.

Job Description:

General Tasks:
*Perform cellular and biochemical experiments and procedures requiring specific scientific or technical knowledge and laboratory techniques according to input from supervisor.
*Document own experiment in lab notebook (including tables, graphs ).
*Provide basic data analysis and may provide assistance in design of next experiment.
*Present results to supervisor and may present to lab at project meetings.
*Work collaboratively with team/Offer assistance to co-workers.
*Conduct activities in compliance with company safety, animal welfare, waste disposal and other regulatory guidelines.

Experience (Basic):
*Handling and treatment of primary as well as various established cell lines followed by cellular and biochemical read-outs.
*Working on sterile and aseptic conditions.
*Hands on experience with plate readers including fluorescence and luminescence.
*Data analysis including statistics (MS Excel and Graph pad prism)

Experience (Desirable):
*Working experience on BL2 (safety level 2) cabinets.
*In vivo experience (anaesthetizing rats and isolation of primary cells such as hepatocytes).
*Handling and processing of human tissue such as skin ex vivo.
*Experience in working with electronic lab books.
*Experience in working with Seahorse Flux Analyzer systems.

Education:
*BS or MS or equivalent in scientific discipline with appropriate years of experience in drug discovery or other related laboratory research

Skill set:
*Working knowledge of relevant IT systems (MS Office)
*Good oral and written communication skills in English.
*Strong interpersonal skills, ie organizational skills, team spirit.
*Perform experiments in an accurate and traceable manner
*Flexible, adaptable and a good team player.
