Associate Scientist

The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing methods of analysis for characterization of proteins, peptides, vaccines, carbohydrates, and oligonucleotides using advanced analytical techniques.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- The qualifications include a minimum of a B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related field; industrial experience in analytical characterization is desirable.
- The qualified colleague must have knowledge in protein biochemistry and/or protein analytics, and should have expertise in one or more protein characterization tools, including mass spectrometry, chromatographic separations, proteolytic mapping, electrophoresis, biophysical techniques, and glycan analysis. These techniques will be applied to a large platform of projects in all stages of development.
- Attention to detail, independence, and good communication and writing skills are essential due to the highly matrixed, fast-paced, project-team environment.
- Proficient or knowledgeable in mass spectrometry.
- Good communicator - both written and orally, reliable, meets due dates, innovative - finds better ways to do particular tasks for increased efficiency, progressively takes on more and more responsibility, and proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Flexible, self-starter, friendly, hard working, good communicator, independent but asks clarifying questions when needed, needs to be team oriented and focused.
