Associate IT Analyst

JOB PURPOSE:
This group produces a variety of video, audio, as well as live streaming video. Position will be one of several production assistants in the group. Primary responsibilities will be to support all of the Macintosh computers (30+) in (including video, graphic design, multimedia and photography) as well as IBM Servers. When time allows, position may also support the video production work of the section's producer/directors. Position will also support group's video editors and engineer.

JOB DUTIES:
Job responsibilities will include hardware and software support and troubleshooting for laptops and desktop (Mac and PC), as well as Servers. This position will also include administration/troubleshooting of a mixed Mac/PC, SAN network including; fibre/Ethernet Switches, tape library and Servers. Duties may also include pre-edit work (dubbing of field recordings, scene logging, file footage searches); post-edit dubbing, file conversion, labeling, and arranging for rush shipments. The position may also include image processing including image preparation, CODEC conversion, scanning and manipulation. Data duplication, retrieval and rescue are also included. Besides computers and networking, equipment requirements may include tape machines, studio camera, computer-based teleprompter, audio board, video and routing switchers, digital nonlinear editors, file based video acquisition and storage equipment or others as needed. Position also includes the organization and maintenance of working inventory of workstations and software, including serial keys and activation codes. The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Typical internal customers include the position's work group including 7 video producers, 3 video editors, 4 photographers, 6 graphic designers, a video librarian and immediate supervisor. External contacts include various customers and vendors throughout worldwide markets. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems. The incumbent generally resolves issues by following departmental guidelines or applying a solution that has worked in the past. The team or supervisor gives general instructions on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it is typically done. The jobholder knows in advance the details of what needs to be done to serve customers and the standard procedures in place to accomplish it. They can change different parts of the standard approach to serve customers best. The position works to refine processes or procedures to ensure the best use of resources and technology in meeting the quality goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must be knowledgeable of various Mac and PC operating systems, hardware, software, Servers and networks. Some of the software used in this job includes the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), digital video file management and streaming software and non-linear editing software, specifically Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite. Computer-related or Engineering-related four year College or University Degree (or equivalent). Progressively responsible IT job-related experiences. Work experience in video production would be a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools. Ability to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working directly on application/technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions. Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components. Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure. Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support. It is important for jobholders to express themselves clearly.
