Associate Gas Invoicing Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible and accountable for the timeliness and accuracy of retail gas invoices.
Assume responsibility for customer setup and deal entry based on accurate interpretation of
contract parameters.
Gain an understanding of deal components (commodity, basis, fees).
Understand the intricacies of the systems used for deal entry/invoicing (tier pricing, extending/rolling deals, posting/accruing invoices)
Assist with required testing related to process and system enhancements/improvements in applicable markets.
Assists team with various responsibilities including but not limited to wholesale gas functions, monitoring and addressing heat tickets, utility rebills, various administrative tasks such scanning customer/utility documents, etc.
Use of Internet and internal intranets to access information.
Maintains confidentiality and works effectively with members of work group and external customers.
Obtain a basic knowledge of Utility Tariffs and Customer Contracts to ensure a solid understanding of the rules and regulations that our customers operate within.
Communicate with other team members and functional groups to ensure expectations and contractual requirements are met.
Uses appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives.
Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure responsive and effective customer service
Work with Senior Team members to identify and coordinate the proactive resolution of
invoicing issues and/or processes prior to and during the month end close cycle.
Gain a basic understanding of all retail gas geographic markets and comprehend reasonable trends and potential issues related to accurately invoicing the customers and meeting posted deadlines.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of control and exception reporting necessary to ensure the integrity of customer data and operational processes for assigned markets/functions.
Assist with SOX 404 documentation to ensure compliance with SOX guidelines.
Primarily responsible for performing various internal controls, as assigned, to ensure compliance with SOX guidelines.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
(typically 1+ years of experience) Has no discretion to vary from established procedures to solve routine/standard problems; Operates under close guidance and supervision.

MINIMAL EXPERIENCE:
1+ years Bookkeeping, Entry level Billing or Accounting experience, or similar discipline.
1+ years Customer Service
3+ years Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. and Internet
3+ years Strong written and oral communication skills

EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree; Area of Study: Accounting, Business, Marketing, or other related discipline
