Assistant Rig Manager - MODU (North Sea)

Operating on a global scale we are one of the few drilling contractors with a heritage going back for 9 decades. With an extensive fleet of jack-ups and deepwater semi submersibles and drillships we are experiencing rapid expansion and have ordered a further ten rigs to be constructed. We are urgently seeking an offshore assistant rig manager to join our North Sea sector, working within the Dutch waters on a rotational 2/2 basis. On offer will be a negotiable base salary of around £100-110k per year and a range of other benefits. This will either be for a jack-up or a semi-submersible depending on your experience. This is a supervisory position and it goes without saying that we will only consider people with the relevant experience. To apply you must: * Demonstrate the technical knowledge required for this role. * Have extensive offshore experience, withNorth Seaexposure preferred. * Be highly organised and be able to provide examples of effectively executed plans, in accordance with client's requirement and respective well programmes. * Be an excellent communicator, and able to simultaneously train, motivate and support the drill crew, whilst maintaining open liaison with the rig manger, OIM and client representatives * Posses a valid IWCF at supervisor level, combined subsea and surface preferred * Ensure all offshore certificates are valid and up to date You will have five key areas of responsibility, listed below: 1 Management of Operations Including: * Planning, organising, supervising and executing well programmes * Minimising downtime * Informing OIM, Rig manager and Client's representative of operations and any concerns * Participate in daily operational meetings * Supervise non-routine tasks * Ensure all activities are carried out safely and adhere to all relevant regulations 1 Health, Safety and Environment Including: * Safe monitoring and supervision of crews by all supervisors * Participate in safety meetings * Ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures * Demonstrate personal commitment to the safety management system * Undertake risk assessments 1 Personnel and Training Including: * Ensure operations have the appropriate number of sufficiently qualified personnel * Train and record personnel development and ensure they are competent before leaving them to complete a task * Lead and motivate team and carry out accurate appraisals 1 Maintenance and Equipment Including: * Supervise the preventative maintenance procedures * Oversee material purchasing, repairs and equipment movement ensuring all are carried out in line with correct procedures * Monitor and review stock levels on board with departmental supervisor, maintaining appropriate levels * Confirm all equipment is certified or documented as fit for purpose * Monitor appearance of rig and equipment to the correct standard 1 Administration Including: * Reporting is complete in a timely manner and is accurate and legible * All relevant information is present during hand-overs to enable the continued safe and efficient running of the rig * Follow action plans and outstanding audit points until completion * Ensure inspection lists are utilised in relevant areas of the rig I will endeavour to reply to every application, however please be aware that this may not always be possible.
