Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project Managers are required to work amongst one of the biggest aircraft carrier expansion projects in recent years. With the development of the QEC aircraft carrier, T26 destroyers and other supply vessels the UK naval defence market is seeing an area of growth within project and programme management and delivery. We are looking for candidates who have a background in the delivery of large engineering projects.

The role:

+ Manage assigned cost accounts to ensure completion to planned targets for budget, schedule and quality
+ Manage the shipyard IBS for the Project to ensure that all aspects of the programme are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved as well as accurate recording and reporting of progress of planned targets for budget, schedule and quality
+ Integrate all functions, identify, manage & support the resolution of Project specific issues, to enable the achievement of programme objectives.
+ In the absence of the PM, delegated authority to lead in setting and agreeing direction with senior management of other function on behalf of the Project.

You will be involved in the planning and scheduling of projects, ensuring the complex activities of interrelated project teams are controlled, co-ordinated and linked into the overall business plan. Generating management information for the Project leadership team, recording and presenting it when necessary.

The Suitable Candidate:

You should have significant experience of operating at different levels within Project Management, with High levels of networking and communication skills used at a senior level with customers, suppliers, partners and sub-contractors being paramount to the role. You should be able to work effectively within a team environment whilst being able to work on your own initiative and a good understanding of commercial, financial and legislative requirements of projects.
