Assistant Press Officer

ASSISTANT PRESS OFFICER - BROADCAST - MEDIA - PRESS OFFICE - NEWS - SOCIAL MEDIA - COMMUNICATIONS

Our world renowned Broadcast client is seeking an Assistant Press Officer to work as part of a team of Press Officers and Assistant Press Officers to provide efficient and comprehensive information to the media every day of the week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To monitor the Press Office email inbox and ensure enquiries are directed to the appropriate press/publicity team
- To act as a point of contact for incoming calls, handling routine enquiries and referring requests onwards as necessary
- To assist Press Officers in the preparation of briefing materials on all aspects of policy for senior executives

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Some experience in journalism or working in a Press Office/Communications role or show demonstrable interest in public relations/journalism.
- A good understanding of the media environment and the news gathering process
- A good working knowledge and use of social media for promoting content and news stories
