Assistant Payroll Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our large FTSE100 company on a fixed term contract until Aug 2014

The role is to lead a team of payroll administrators in their delivery of a continually improving service performance meeting and exceeding customer specifications and expectations, by organising workflow, determining priorities and implementing procedural, system and control environment changes

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and maintain consistent and accurate scheme records using the appropriate systems.
Understand staff capabilities and aid their development by agreeing training needs, organise coaching and mentoring to assist staff to achieve their full potential.
To provide excellent customer service to all pensioners and third parties.
Co-ordinate and effectively manage a programme of work to process the payroll updates for the annual pension increase exercises.
Undertake or oversee payroll associated projects as required.
Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to the Operational Risk & Compliance Department, and promote an environment which encourages all staff to do the same.
Adhere to the ISO and Investors in People Standards, Quality Management System and comply with pensions and FSA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

The successful candidate should have strong payroll experience coupled with strong staff management experience. Advanced Office Skills are required along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Within this role you will be at times working under pressure and to deadlines.
