Assistant Finance Manager

Eingestellt von TEKsystems

Gesuchte Skills: Support, Net, Network

Projektbeschreibung

Job purpose
Prepare five year forecasts of Net Interest Income ("NII") for the businesses. Clearly explain the assumptions, outputs, risks and opportunities of the forecast. This role supports the Financial Forecast Manager in delivering high quality written reports and verbal presentations on the forecasts to the Business Executives (including FDs and Commercial Directors), and other senior stakeholders in the bank. Deliverables include quarterly forecasts, stress test forecasts, and responding to a diverse and interesting range of ad hoc scenarios.
Build a wide network of contacts across the Mortgages & Savings business to understand the key financial, commercial and market drivers of income. Gather and analyse relevant volume, margin and other inputs to forecast NII. Support decision-making by the senior executives by clearly articulating the movements, implications and recommendations of the forecasts.
Colleagues in the team benefit from a particularly wide-ranging view of the Mortgage & Savings businesses and have significant exposure to senior executives. The role provides an excellent opportunity to build your breadth of knowledge and requires some flexibility around working patterns.

Key accountabilities (not exhaustive):
*Deliver high level NII forecasts using the Medium Term Planning ("MTP") model for quarterly financial forecasts, stress tests and ad hoc scenarios.
*Obtain NII forecast assumptions from stakeholders, including Economic Assumptions, new business volumes and margins, Strategic Initiatives and funding rates. Ensure timetables and requirements are met.
*Forge enduring business partnerships with the Finance and Commercial functions and share assumptions and outputs of the MTP forecast. Continuously improve the service you offer to internal customers.
*Consolidate individual brand NII forecasts into a total forecast. Understand the drivers and movements of the NII forecast against previous quarterly forecast by conducting analytical reviews.
*Obtain clear explanations on variances from stakeholders. Challenge stakeholders on the inputs and assumptions as needed, and understand the risks and opportunities.
*Present the MTP outputs in innovative ways which give insight to the business. With minimal need for review, draft reports in formal English and with consistently formatted tables and charts.
*Clearly and persuasively explain the NII forecast and its implications to the Senior Manager, setting out options/decisions and the risks and opportunities in the forecast.
*Check and reconcile the Income forecast values on the Hyperion system prior to finalising each forecast submission. Ensure a robust audit trail, and keep a record of all changes to the forecast post-submission.
*Answer ad hoc queries and prepare analysis in relation to the Business P&Ls.
*Pro-actively identify improvements to the MTP forecast process and MTP model which lead to better insight, efficiency and control. Project manage the delivery of these improvements through your team and other specialists.
*Uphold a robust control environment over the NII forecast assumptions, MTP model and outputs. *Ensure inputs reconcile to data sources and outputs are reviewed and approved. Ensure processes and information comply with audit requirements.
*Provide regular, open feedback to help colleagues develop their careers.

Key Skills & Qualifications
*Intellectual curiosity to understand the drivers of the business and the implications of their analysis to decision-makers.
*Experienced in analytical review and variance analysis of financial information.
*Proven ability to produce clearly written reports to a very high quality of presentation and standard of English.
*Strong ethic of team working, occasionally under pressured conditions
*Ability to build relationships, co-ordinate and influence a wide variety of business partners to deliver information to a deadline.
