On behalf of Hyphens large utilities client I am looking to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager for a 12 month contract to be based onsite in Warwick

Role: Assistant Finance Manager
Duration: 12 months
Location: Warwick
Sector: Utilities

You will support the strategic and tactical priorities through delivering compliance, insight and value to improve decision making, and drive new opportunities, growth and business performance. The role ensures appropriate financial control, with particular emphasis on timely, accurate, complete and appropriate business planning, budgeting and forecasting, monthly financial reporting and inputs to the month end accounting process.

Key tasks:
*Contribute to all key strategic and commercial decisions, plans, budgeting and forecasting for the business to help drive business performance, working closely with the functional management team and the Senior Finance Business Partner, ensuring all financial aspects are considered
*Assess and model the benefits, financial risks and impacts of existing and potential new incentives, the interaction between them, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of projects aimed at maximising incentives in order to maximise income
*Perform cost analysis, identifying and monitoring cost saving opportunities across both the direct and indirect cost base in order to drive profitability.
*Monitor and drive the financial performance of the business including cash flow, product, service, customer and competitor profitability, to ensure short and long term targets are met.
*Support functional management teams in developing their financial and commercial acumen.
*Undertake analysis of delivery against regulatory output commitments and impacts of non-delivery and ensuring the business is fully aware of the financial impact
*Deal with ad-hoc requests in order to support achievement of the business unit's objectives.
*Develop, maintain and implement planning, budgeting and forecasting models, as advised by the Business Support Finance Manager, ensuring assumptions, forecasts and reporting are appropriate in order to deliver robust financial management.

Experience required:
*Professional accounting body qualification (eg ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or significant, broad business experience (financial, management and project accounting experience)
*Clear understanding of the strategic and financial direction
*Demonstrated ability to influence and support strategic and tactical change, fostering innovation and informed risk taking to achieve business goals
*Track record of developing collaborative working relationships with the business, the rest of Finance and Business Partners through regular communication, active knowledge sharing and being responsive to feedback
*Ability to constructively challenge, asking relevant and sometimes difficult questions, to encourage the business to consider new opportunities and drive performance
*Understands the business language and is able to communicate the financial implications of decisions in an engaging way that gets buy-in and improves the financial acumen of the business
*Demonstrated ability in reporting financial information and planning, forecasting and budgeting
*Experience of managing and developing teams of professional staff and specialists
