Assistant Finance Business Partner is required on a 5 month contract up in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
As the Assistant Finance Business Partner you will support the commercial finance business partner to the LAS business, providing financial support, insight and guidance, and support financial management of projects across the Company

The role

Business Partnering - 30%
Participate as a full member of the team supporting the Finance Business Partner, become a trusted commercial finance business partner as a key point of contract for the Business unit.
Interface with product/project management and service delivery teams on financial issues and on financial business support ensuring part of the decision making process.
Attend business staff, product & programme meetings to contribute to the product management and strategy.
Identify issues, and potential resolutions, and opportunities related to the area support. Identify patterns and predict potential issues/opportunities.
Financial modelling for bids and business cases.
Liaise with the Business Development team on business cases and new business and provide support as required.
Assist with P&L ownership and financial contract management for the areas supported.

Financial Analysis- 50%
Oversee and support the LAS business in preparing P&L forecasts & budgets with supporting assumptions.
Monthly reporting of performance against plan and explanation of variances
Implement and follow standards and policies as defined and escalate exceptions.
Adhoc requests as required, sometimes to tight deadlines.

Project and Portfolio Support- 20%
Support S&BD Finance representatives with management of project finances, requiring travel to Rickmansworth and London offices

Experience
A professional and proactive approach with an eye for detail balanced with ability to see the big picture.
Ability to work on own initiative and remotely from the main finance team.
Good and clear communication skills with the ability to clear explain financial information to non- financial managers and the ability to work with people at all levels of the business.
The ability to interpret and summarise financial analysis into meaningful business information and dialogue.
A good understanding of accounting principles.
Good organising, time management and planning skills and the ability to work under pressure to achieve challenging deadlines.
Strong Excel skills including the ability to create high quality individual reports, including ad hoc reporting.
Ability to work as an integral member of the other Finance teams.
Oracle and CPM experience.
Knowledge of the payments or financial services industry.
Qualified or Finalist CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or equivalent).
