Assistant Driller - North Sea (Jack-up/semi)

Our drilling heritage began in the 1920s and we have evolved and grown to become one of the largest and experienced ultra-deepwater and harsh environment offshore drilling companies, operating a fleet of advanced rigs on a global scale. We are seeking an assistant driller to join our North Sea Division ASAP. You will be working on either a Jack-up or Semi-Submersible rig, and will work on a rotation basis. Before continuing please ensure you can answer yes to all of the following: * Do you have relevant offshore experience? * Have you previously worked on North Sea installations? * Are you eligible to work in the UK? * Can you demonstrate the technical knowledge required for this role? * Do you have a valid Well-Control certificate? * Do you possess the relevant offshore survival and medical certificates? Reporting directly to the driller you will have the following responsibilities: * Mentor, coach, train, motivate and supervise the derrickman, pumpman and roughneck/floorhand. You will be involved in the ongoing training of staff to ensure that they are competent in their job performance. This will include the pre-tour meeting, and annual performance appraisals. * Assist the driller in operating and maintaining the drilling and mud circulation equipment. You will perform daily checks, maintain accurate records and calculate ton-miles on the drilling line. You will also be responsible for interpreting the various gauges and meters associated with the drilling operations * You will provide assistance to the driller, but also relieve him when necessary at the driller's console * You will support the driller in an emergency situation, and be able to undertake well-killing operations * Assist in running and cementing casing strings, running and retrieving BOPs and risers, monitoring mud systems including solids control equipment and mud mixing operations and operating the top drive as directed by the Driller or Toolpusher * You will be highly safety conscious, and will assist in safety drills, safety training and call a time out whenever an unexpected hazard or deviation from the expected results is experienced Please be aware the above is not a complete list of duties but a guide.
