Assistant Driller - North Sea (3/3)

As a smaller drilling contractor we have a thirst for growth and are continually looking for ways to exceed the expectations of our customer's and clients. We have just agreed a new contract which will see one of our harsh environment Jack-Up rigs drilling in theNorth Seasector. We are looking for an Assistant Driller to join this team on a 3/3 rotational basis. Operating jack-ups, semi-submersibles and drillships both in Europe andAsiayou will be joining a company who can offer you a solid career future and the opportunity to work with other highly talented and dedicated people. * You will ideally be working at AD level on a similar rig, experienced Derrickman with exposure at this level may be considered. * You will have a sound technical knowledge of all appropriate processes and operations, and have proven experience with the equipment and tools. * Offshore certificates must be valid and up to date, and you will be required to pass a pre-placement physical examination. * Your knowledge of well control should be comprehensive. * Your communication skills must be excellent, as you will be required to assist and mentor the drill crew, whilst maintaining contact with the driller and other senior personnel. * Health, safety and environment will be at the forefront of all your actions. We are offering an annual salary of around £71,000, and will also reward your commitment to the company through a retention bonus scheme. On top of this you can expect a monthly travel allowance, private healthcare, dental insurance and life assurance. DUTIES AND TASKS: * Health and Safety * You have the authority to call TIME OUT if you feel the safety of any person is threatened. * You will be responsible in eliminating risks and reporting potential hazards to senior supervisors * Rig Start * Assisting in jacking operations, preloading and equipment maintenance and safety checks * Participating in pre-spud meetings with all crew members and understand the well program * Installing the BOP and connecting hydraulic lines to the appropriate functions * Positioning the derrick, making up the bottom hole assembly, nippling up the annular preventer and diverter, spudding the hole and all other relevant tasks * Drilling Operations * Coordinating pressure testing of BOB stack * Operating hoisting equipment and rotary table and supervising the drill crew in drill stem operations, making connections and tripping. * Monitoring instruments to ascertain bottom hole conditions, the drill stem and well bore performance, and completing all required drilling logs and paperwork * Aware and ready to follow well control procedures, with the ability to recognise indications of kick or blowout before it develops
