Assistant Driller (AD)

With an ever expanding global presence, and drilling rig fleet, the Aberdeen offices of this large offshore drilling contractor are seeking Assistant Drillers and cyber experienced Assistant Drillers to join their offshore rig crews. To be considered for this role you must have a minimum one year experience working as a Derrickman, and have completed both a Roustabout training course and be able to provide examples of AD competency. * Reporting to the Driller you will have control over the actual drilling operations, depending on formations encountered, efficiency and other unforeseen problems. Specifically you must be able to demonstrate an ability to recognise pressure problems, knowledge of slipping and cutting the drill line, stringing the block and lining up choke manifold and stand piping. * You will be responsible for maintenance including upkeep of tongs, rotary, drawworks and other drill floor accessory equipment, and material preservation activities. * Responsible for the rig crew you will ensure all operations are proceeding in a safe manner, providing corrective measures where needed, and attending weekly safety meetings. You will also provide leadership and direction for the crew encouraging appropriate professional development and training opportunities.
