Assistant Accountant

We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to work in our busy Management Accounts section as maternity cover on a fixed term contract for 5 months.

This post will be responsible for the provision of information, advice and costings, and for the calculation of the direct costs budget.

We are looking for someone who is able to communicate credibly and confidently at all levels and who can explain complex financial information to non financial managers. We would prefer someone with experience of working in a large business and using a major finance computer system (preferably SAP).

You should be progressing towards a professional qualification with a recognised accountancy body, or have extensive relevant experience in the management accounting field. Your accounting experience should include preparation of monthly reports as well as costing/pricing work. You will need to use your advanced Excel skills in modelling costs and income and the ability to manipulate financial data within a management accounting environment is essential. You must be able to produce detailed and accurate work to deadlines and you will need to prioritise the competing demands on your time.
