Assistant Accountant

We have an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT to join our reputable government-owned client. In this role, you will report to the Financial Accounting Supervisor and the Fixed Assets Accounting Supervisor to process transaction, reconciliations and reporting, and undertake additional tasks for the corporate and accounting team.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in business and financial operations of a large commercial organizations
- Exposure to accounting issues associated with fixed assets (highly desirable)
- Sound communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to liaise and negotiate with people at a variety of levels
- Strong computer skills, including experience in the use of financial management systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or related discipline (desirable), with sound knowledge and practical application of accounting standards and finance management practices
