Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant - Temp-to-Perm - £26,000 - £30,000, to start ASAP

An excellent opportunity has a risen for an Assistant Accountant to join an exciting and fast paced finance team, working within a leading services organisation based in Leatherhead.

THE ROLE:
Monthly AP/AR reconciliation.
Prepare monthly Cost of Sales analysis.
Reconciliation of Branch Bank accounts.
Assists with month end activities.
Process the accounting of all Branches, including journal entries and reconciliation to balance sheet.
Process Intercompany invoices and monthly reconciliations.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and prepayments.
Reconciliation of weekly multicurrency Bank reconciliations as required.
Cover cash allocations as required.
Cover EMEA staff expenses as required.
Keep fixed assets register up to date and correctly apply depreciation.
Process payments as required including funding of Branch Bank accounts.
Prepares and records journal entries.
Branch compliance and reporting including tax returns, local accounting systems and reporting
Liaison with local accounting and payroll services providers
D Ireland accounting and reporting
Ensure D travel policies are applied across all branches and regional offices
Travel expenditure analysis
Audit working paper preparation and analysis
Accounts procedure maintenance both in local branches and the UK
Branch Vat returns
Intra EU Trade returns
Analysis of Currency accounts.
Lease and Rental reporting where required

THE PERSON:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures
Knowledge of Oracle, strongly preferred
Intermediate skills in Excel and Word
Excellent self-starter
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Strong self-discipline and good communication skills
Team player
Eager to learn and accept challenges
